squat toilet
continuing my research on toilets etc(remember my habit of net browsing), I came up with an astonishing fact. I had always thought that there is no benefit of squat toilets in our society, (can have hygiene problems) and they are one of major causes of knee pain (especially in women and generally overweight persons). but, in this article, they have scientifically showed that Hemorrhoids (piles) are very rare in nations where people squat to defecate and it has been shown that less straining is required to defecate in the squatting position. cool, man, now I am happy of myself being used to squat toilet in pakistan..:D..
p.s.: if you are still wondering what and how to use squat toilet (or if you plan to visit asia sometime in your life), here is an article of how to use squat toilet

joke(s) [urdu/hindi language]
Santa went out to buy an Indian flag.
The shop owner gave him the flag.
Guess what did he ask next... Ismein aur colour dikhayiye
Frog: Tumhare paas dimaag nahin hai.
Santa: Hai.
Frog: Nahin hai.
Santa: Hai.
Frog: Nahin hai & jumps into the well.
Santa: Isme suicide karne waali kya baat thi.?
:D...hehehe.. satna happens to be ...?

click free browsing
most of my online time is spent doing google searches, and I am like most people who started using firefox because of tabbed browsing. I do google searches like this way(applies to most people): open search links in new tabs, and just browse back and forth between original search page and search results. Have you noticed how much time do you waste moving your mouse over various tabs and messing up the browser window with like 10 tabs? (sometimes my tabs reach unimaginable number, and firefox just refuses to open more tabs). Also, if you are one of VIM guys like me, you probably like less hands messing and quick [browsing]:you value convenience. solution: click free browsing...
I saw these 2 products: browster and cooliris. Both are really cool products. They allow a preview of google searches (other websites also supported, browster supports Myspace profile previews, which seems to be pretty cool: I haven't used). Thus, you never leave the original search page, and still (pre)?view results links (not to mention that you can always open the result link in a new browser window or tab if you want to). I would definitely recommend a try. I am using browster: I like it for now (I use it a lot while orkutting-;)). I'll post here when I am done with it..:)... happy browsing..
ps: wondering what (why) VIM or (pre)?view is: here is an excerpt from a website :)...
Regexp means regular expression and is a extremely geeky way to find series or automatas of characters in strings. If this doesn't say you anything or you just generally feel like grabbing another beer and a couple of chips, please dont read any further..

embedded software development cycle
A joke from Embedded Muse newsletter...
The software development cycle:
1. Programmer produces code he believes is bug-free.
2. Product is tested. 20 bugs are found.
3. Programmer fixes 10 of the bugs and explains to the testing
department that the other 10 aren't really bugs.
4. Testing department finds that five of the fixes didn't work and
discovers 15 new bugs.
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 three times.
6. Due to marketing pressure and an extremely premature product
announcement based on overly-optimistic programming schedule, the
product is released.
7. Users find 137 new bugs.
8. Original programmer, having cashed his royalty check, is nowhere
to be found.
9. Newly-assembled programming team fixes almost all of the 137 bugs,
but introduce 456 new ones.
10. Original programmer sends underpaid testing department a postcard
from Fiji. Entire testing department quits.
11. Company is bought in a hostile takeover by competitor using
profits from their latest release, which had 783 bugs.
12. New CEO is brought in by board of directors. He hires a
programmer to redo program from scratch.
13. Programmer produces code he believes is bug-free.

public acceptance of evolution...
In an article at newscientist, why doesn't america believe in evolution, they are wondering why US is far behind from agreeing to the concept of evolution. I think religious fundamentalism could be one point. Also, US does not have a really strict centralized education curriculum system, in contrast to most European countries...
enhanced...
today i found out that there is a little hmmmm between enhanced and vulgar. cool, hhhhhmmmm, now I am more knowledgeable... (video interview at Bill Blass fashion show fall 2006).

AOL "mistake"
AOL accidentally released 3 months of data containing search terms used on AOL engine by AOL users: http://www.aolstalker.com/. Its actually quite interesting for just normal users. However, what could be the consequences of revealing such data, are far more interesting. Next time you do a google search, make sure you are not logged in to your google account. (what else can you do?)
