Don't block the blog

Although, this post could not be seen in pakistan right now, but, I want to spread the word that the current censorship of blogger.com and *.blogspot.com (along with many other hosts) by pakistani authorities is very against the free speech and freedom of press (which president Pervez Musharraf says he strongly encourages).
For unknown: in march 2006, the PTA (Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, the internet watchdog) ordered internet service providers (ISPs) in pakistan to block all websites that were displaying blasphemous cartoons of prophet Mohammad (pbuh). The copy of this order can be found here. One of these websites happened to be a blog, posted at blogspot.com. Instead of blocking that specific blog, ISPs (and government) blocked whole blogspot, which is completely stupid and unnecessary. I don't know whether that was deliberate or something else, but blogspot is still banned in pakistan, along with many other websites. Blogs (and similar forums) are of ultimate importance and use in today's high-information flow society, as we have seen in case of arrest of an Islamabad based tech-company (Cogilent Solutions) CEO, whose ordeal was widely circulated through online forums and groups around globe, and authorities were forced to take a quick corrective action.
Several people and groups are raising voice against this ban and censorship. I would say that it is very important that pakistanis around the globe, and especially who are related to media industry should raise their voice against this act. I mean if we are still dealing and debating these (non-)issues, where are we heading....

e-Bakra

yes, this isn't a sentence from Moin Akhtar's newest Eid sitcom. It is literally a new website who claims that they can slaughter a bakra (dunba, to be precise) on this eid-ul-azha on your behalf, and would send packaged meat to your doorstep. haaaahhhhhh... visit http://www.ebakra.com/ for more details...
